National Park Paklenica
Croatia
Paklenica National Park stretches across the slopes of South Velebit, directly above the settlement of Marasovići, up to the highest mountain peaks of Vaganski Vrh, Babin Vrh, and Sveto Brdo. The untouched natural beauty of Paklenica National Park is stunning and breathtaking at the same time.
The erosion of two mountain rivers, Velika Paklenica and Mala Paklenica form the beautiful gorges of the park. The cliffs and intense hiking trails of Paklenica are popular with mountaineer enthusiasts. Anica Kuk is one of the most famous rock faces reaching a height of 1300 feet.
Unlike other National Parks of Croatia, Paklenica National Park offers visitors a more do-it-yourself approach. Visitors should be prepared to carry water with them as it can only be purchased at the main reception office.
Rock climbers, hikers and nature lovers will find this park enticing and will enjoy uncovering over 60 miles of hiking trails and routes that last from a few hours to a few days.
