Description

You will depart from Zadar and after a 40-minute ride you will arrive at your first stop, the viewpoint plateau above Zrmanja Canyon. Zrmanja River flows through the wild and rocky landscape and creates a magnificent canyon. After a short stop, you will continue on an off-road ride along a macadam road from the 19th century, nowadays Protected Croatian cultural good. This was the first road that connected continental and coastal Croatia region. It is 41 km long and leads to the foothills of Velebit mountain top called Tulo's Rafters. Tulo's Rafters (or Tulove Grede in Croatian) are white limestone cliffs looking like crown rising from the body of a massive mountain peak. From the foothills of Tulo's Rafters, you will start a 1.5-hour hike to the top of the peak. After reaching the top of Velebit mountain you will have some free time to take in the breathtaking view from more than 3600 feet. If you are feeling adventurous you can climb to the very top of the rocky peak and discover a completely new sight of this mystic mountain and Zadar Country. Later follows a 40 minute descend towards foothills of the peak. From there you will departure back towards Zadar to end your tour.
