Description
Travel from Split or Trogir to the Plitvice Lakes National Park, founded in 1949, making it one of the oldest national parks in southeastern Europe. Discover the sprawling network of beautiful waterfalls, lakes, and forests on a guided tour and boat ride. Start with pickup from central meeting points in either Split or Trogir. Upon arrival at the park, enjoy a guided tour of its most picturesque spots. Marvel at one of the main attractions, the 78-meter-high waterfall known as Veliki Slap, which is the highest waterfall in Croatia. In addition to the guided walks along wooden paths, you’ll enjoy a boat ride across the biggest lake, and also a short train ride. During your visit, you may encounter a variety of species that have lived in the area since before the time of human arrival. After visiting the park, make a short photo stop at the Željava airbase. Learn a bit about the technological achievements of what was once the largest military complex in Europe, which operated during the era of Yugoslavia. Afterwards, be dropped off back in Split or Trogir.Includes
