Reviews
We really enjoyed Hotel More. The hotel is built into the side of a hill - it takes a few days to figure out which elevator to use. If you want to go to Old Town, it's an Uber ride. You can book other excursions (Bosnia and Herzegovina or Montenegro) to pick you up at the hotel. Reception staff not always around, which we found odd. Asked for a 3:30 am wake-up call that we never got. The restaurant More was wonderful. The Cave Bar was fun too.
Lovely Hotel, only complaint. When paying for 5 star, I was a little surprised and disappointed that the very limited space on the waters edge, on sunbeds and tables, by the bar, it was open to non guests. Although it says it was 70 Euros, a number of people came down with a Picnic Blanket and their own food and sat next to us next to our sunbeds. I’m no snob, I just don’t get that they would be allowed to do that. It’s like going into a restaurant with your own food. There were also a bunch of very noisy teenagers that stood on the front by us having teenager fun, that were clearly not staying at the hotel. Otherwise, excellent hotel, room and stay.
We booked a table at the More restaurant for our 30th anniversary, we were seated out on the terrace looking out at the ocean it is the most beautiful view, we were served by the loveliest waitress ( I am so sad I didn't get her name) she couldn't do enough for us and was all smiles all evening. Food- we ordered soup to start I had pumpkin my hubby had oxtail which was full of meat & noodles this came with a bowl of bread and both were very tasty we had the slow cooked lamb shank for main and my goodness 1 would have fed us both it was huge and so full of meat it came with mash potatoes and roasted fennel we didn't order dessert after this as we really couldn't fit anything else in.We had a really memorable evening with amazing food and excellent service I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The location of the hotel is amazing! The rooms are clean and the housekeeping did a great job. This hotel is lacking from a service perspective. The service at check was great... Everyday we were laying out in the lounge chairs by the water I had to flag a waiter down for a drink.. every time. We also asked for an umbrella and they had my husband move the umbrella to where our chairs were. For a nice hotel like this I would have thought the staff would have done a better job checking if you needed anything. The hotel rooms could use a makeover but the beds were comfortable and clean
Hotel More on the Lapad Peninsula just outside Dubrovnik Old Town is one of my favourite hotels. Although the layout of the hotel might appear to be confusing at first there is very good signage especially by each lift (elevator). Great breakfast, self service but eggs cooked in a variety of ways can be ordered from the bar. We found all members of staff at reception, housekeeping and at the restaurants to be very helpful and extremely polite. We had a very good sea view from the balcony of our hotel room. There are scenic views walking along the Lapad promenade a coastal path with pine trees that goes past the lower part of the hotel. Cave Bar More allows you to get the lift from your hotel room and walk out onto a sea-facing terrace where you can take steps down into the sea. Drinks and bar snacks are available and the sunsets over the bay are incredible. Hotel More has two restaurants - Restaurant Tramuntana that serves breakfast and evening meals plus Restaurant More that serves lunch and evening meals. We were on half board and tried both restaurants for evening meals. Tramuntana has more seafood but there is overlap and both restaurants are very good. They have a good selection of local wines but remember that this is a 5-star hotel they do not sell the wine at supermarket prices. PLEASE NOTE: You need to wear water shoes when swimming here. It is rocky but in addition there are sea urchins (small black very spiky balls) and you do not want to have to remove lots of spines from your feet after a swim. The water is deep and not suitable for young children.
