Nature Park Biokovo

Biokovo Nature Park spans across nearly 20 000 hectares of mountainous terrain with deep valleys, high peaks and beautiful landscapes. Visiting Bioko is an ideal way to explore nature at its best. The park ranges from 200 meters above sea level to 1762 meters above sea level at the highest peak of Saint Jure. From Brela to Gornje Igrane the Biokovo mountains embrace the entire Makarska Riviera.

Biokovo is so unique because its phenomenal characteristics. This includes the deepest pit, (Mokre Noge/Wet Legs reaches a depth of 832 meters), forty plus endemic plant species, paleontological sites, numerous sinkholes, caves, karsts and some of the most spectacular lookout points in the world.

The park features numerous other offerings including the Biokovo Botanical Garden Kotisina, educational trails, hiking trails and information and presentation centers. Five lookout points across the park include - Staza, Ravna Vlaska, Strbina, Vosac and the highest lookout point Saint Jure.

The entrance fee is 40 HRK per person however, children 7 and under are free. Larger groups, hikers, cyclist and other such groups will receive discounts. Accommodation within the park is also available. Restaurant Vrata Biokovo also offers visitors a beautiful place to enjoy an authentic Croatian meal with local ingredients and herbs from the Biokovo mountains itself. Guided tours are also available.
