Currency
The kuna (HRK) is the official currency of Croatia (100 lipas equals 1 kuna). Banks, money exchange offices, post offices and travel agencies will offer competitive rates for exchanging currency and most times will not charge additional fees. Mastercard, Visa and American Express are widely accepted however smaller businesses in rural towns may only accept cash. Bank machines and major banks can be found in all areas of Croatia.

Helpful Tips:
Tap water is safe to drink in all areas of Croatia.
Higher road traffic during the summer months. If travelling by car, plan to travel during the week as opposed to on weekends, when possible.
In coastal towns, shops and public offices are closed in the afternoon between 13:00 and 16:00 hour (Not including banks)
Taxi services can be found in all cities and tourist destinations.
