Umag: Dolphinwatching & sunset panorama tour
Istria County, Croatia
Admire bottlenose dolphin while sailing towards the Slovenian border. Observe Croatian towns from a completely new perspective with panoramic tour and experience an ethereal sunset at sea.
Overview
This dolphin-watching and sunset tour departs daily from Umag, suitable for nature lovers and sea enthusiasts.
Description
Every evening, the Mamma Mia premium speed boat sets sail from Umag harbour towards the dolphin protected area. Guests can relax on comfortable sundeck beds as the boat cruises into open sea searching for dolphins.
When dolphins are spotted, guests can observe and photograph them while the boat slowly heads towards the Slovenian border. On the right side, you will see the western Istrian coast, including Savudrija, Katoro, Zambratija, and Piran in Slovenia. To the left, the Adriatic Sea stretches towards Italy.
The route passes the historic Savudrian lighthouse, one of the oldest and largest in the Adriatic, dating back to the early 19th century.
As sunset begins, the boat returns to Umag, passing the protected dolphin area again. The glowing orange sun often illuminates dolphin fins, concluding the 1.5-hour tour.
Please note that dolphins are wild animals and sightings cannot be guaranteed. If dolphins are not seen, tickets will not be refunded.
