Description

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive as we ascend to Mala Učka, the highest rural settlement in Istria, perched at nearly 1,000 meters above sea level. From this charming, rustic starting point, we set off on a gentle trail that follows the mountain's grassy spine. Unlike typical strenuous hikes, this route stays along the ridge, meaning you’ll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views without the exhausting climbs. As we walk, you will have the Adriatic Sea on one side and the rolling green hills of Istria on the other. The highlight of our journey is the Kremenjak shelter, an architectural masterpiece known as 'The Nest'. This egg-shaped sanctuary, designed to blend into the landscape with its exterior of dry branches, offers a perfect backdrop for photos and a serene spot to rest. Throughout the hike, we will keep an eye on the sky for the majestic Griffon vultures that frequently soar above these ridges. We will conclude our walk by reaching the peak of Brgud, where the 360-degree views of the Kvarner Gulf and the islands of Cres and Lošinj are truly unforgettable, before a relaxing stroll back to our vehicle.
