Description
Begin your hike at the ACI Marina parking area in Komolac, where you will meet your guide and receive a short introduction to the route. The walk starts through the quiet streets of Komolac before reaching the Ledo warehouse, where the trail leaves the village and begins a gradual climb towards Dubrovnik's historic stone aqueduct. From there, follow the aqueduct through Mediterranean vegetation until reaching the junction above the Ombla Water Treatment Plant. The route then continues along the former narrow-gauge railway line known as 'Ćiro', offering an easy and scenic walk with beautiful views over the Ombla River valley as you make your way towards Sustjepan. From Sustjepan, the trail climbs once more to rejoin the historic aqueduct and continues uphill to the peaceful village of Nuncijata. After a short break to enjoy the panoramic views over Gruž Harbour, Lapad Peninsula and the surrounding hills, begin the return journey by following the old aqueduct back towards Komolac and the ACI Marina parking area. Throughout the hike, your guide will share stories about the history of the aqueduct, the former railway and the landscapes that have shaped this lesser-known side of Dubrovnik.
Enjoy a moderate hike that is mostly flat but includes several uphill and downhill sections, and longer walking distances. No technical climbing experience is required, but participants should have a reasonable level of fitness.
