Discover the hidden side of Hvar on an authentic 3-hour gastronomic and cultural experience at Family Farm Brusje. Start in Hvar Town with round-trip transportation included, then travel above the town to the Poljun panoramic viewpoint. Pause for photos and take in sweeping island views before continuing inland to the traditional village of Brusje. At the family farm, step into Hvar’s everyday traditions through local products, stories, and hands-on presentations. Learn why lavender shaped life on the island for generations and see a presentation of traditional lavender essential oil production, including the distillation process and equipment (the still is presented and explained but not operated during the visit). Each guest also receives a gift package of homemade lavender products to take home. Continue with a walk through the farm’s private ethnographic collection of around 600 historical and everyday items—tools and objects that show how island families once worked the land and produced their own food. Then it’s time to taste Hvar. Enjoy a generous homemade snack platter with local flavours such as goat cheese in olive oil, prosciutto, olives, capers, and seasonal vegetables, finished with a vegetable dressing and lavender honey sauce. Pair it with tastings of local red and white wine, followed by two varieties of homemade extra virgin olive oil and a taste of traditional homemade rakija. Finish with the farm’s signature Honey Testing experience—a beekeeping presentation of about 15 minutes followed by tastings of homemade bee products and a Royal Cocktail prepared with bee products and fresh ingredients.
