Description
On this sightseeing tour of Dubrovnik, you'll get to know the city's main points of interest on a walking route. We'll start our walk through the Old Town in the Pile area, in front of the Amerling fountain. We'll learn about the main activities and businesses in this neighborhood, whose fortresses were important for its defense, and how the walls were erected. We'll continue to the Pile Gate and Paskoje Milicevic Square, where we'll learn the history of its construction; the Church of St. Saviour, the Great Fountain of Onofrio, the Franciscan Monastery, the Convent of St. Clare, and the orphanage. We'll walk along the main street, Stradun, to the eastern part of the city; the Sponza Palace, the Church of St. Blaise, the City Bell Tower, Orlando's Column, the Rector's Palace, the Cathedral, the Church of St. Ignatius and College, and on to the Old Harbor, where we'll end our sightseeing tour.
During our tour, we'll mention Yugoslavia and the 1991 War of Independence.
Not only will we walk through the main streets and squares, but we'll also learn about the customs that existed over the centuries and the way of life then and today. We'll see places where the first public orphanage was located, the old pharmacy, the palace where the prince lived for only one month during his rule, where the Ragusea coin was minted, where the quarantine was located, and much more.

During our route, we'll visit and enjoy the great attractions of the Old Town. We'll also visit the interior of the Church of St. Blaise, the interior of the Cathedral, and the interior of the Church of St. Ignatius. I'll talk about the history of Dubrovnik, especially the era of the Republic of Dubrovnik, its main activities and customs, who its great rivals were, how the city was built, and which architects were responsible for the reconstructions.
I'll talk about the traditional costumes, the dances of Dubrovnik and its surroundings, the islands and their history, and the food. We'll learn about activities that Dubrovnik pioneered in the world.
