Konoba Knez, located in the picturesque countryside of Mokošica near Dubrovnik, offers a unique dining experience where tradition meets family hospitality. Not just another restaurant, this venue embodies the spirit of a traditional Dalmatian 'konoba' or tavern, with a strong emphasis on local heritage and homegrown produce. The heart of Konoba Knez is its commitment to 'farm to table' practices, ensuring that every dish is crafted with ingredients sourced directly from their own farm. This includes a variety of meats, such as lamb, veal, goat, and other selections that are thoughtfully prepared to honor classic culinary methods.
A standout feature of Konoba Knez is its dedication to time-honored cooking techniques, epitomized by the traditional 'peka' method. This involves slow-cooking meats and vegetables under a bell-shaped lid, which allows flavors to meld and produce tender, aromatic results. Guests can also enjoy a variety of homemade cured meats, prosciutto, and local cheeses as part of their meal's cold starters.
Konoba Knez fosters an inviting and relaxed environment, ideal for gatherings with family and friends. This is further enriched by the family who runs the konoba, bringing genuine passion and attentive service to every guest's experience. Here, the emphasis is on creating lasting memories through leisurely meals shared in good company.
Perfect for steak aficionados and those seeking an authentic taste of Croatian countryside life, Konoba Knez offers a selection of aged steaks and specialty grilled meats. The dishes, whether enjoyed in a small group or part of a larger celebration, are designed to resonate with the locale's rustic charm and culinary tradition.

Amazing farm to table dining experience in an authentic Croatian restaurant! This is a MUST visit if ever in Dubrovnik
Tavern Knez, Family Knez. Thank you so much for a lovely evening! Your service and warm friendly welcoming along with enjoying all of your local products and traditional dishes was a pleasure. We had the menu 1 giving you homemade liquers in different flavours, cold plate with homemade prosciutto, bacon, pork neck, sausages, cheese, pickled tomatoes and onions. And then the main course, the peka, longcooked veal, lamb and potatoes. A must to eat! Lastly finishing with a couple of choices of homemade desserts. During our dinner we had both their own made white and red wine. If you are anywhere in the region, visit family Knez. They are a gem and made a moment to remember. Hope to see you again!
Our tour guide Vlaho in old town Dubrovnik recommended this “all inclusive” farm to table dinner. Excellent dinner experience on a working farm and the best butchers in Dubrovnik. Come early so you can enjoy the property. Started off with an intro to local home made liquors. Then a lovely selection of house cheeses and house cured meats. Owner hosted and baked us the most delicious Peka. My only surprise was that the alcohol was charged over and above the meal. The portions are generous so come hungry. Our host Dayan was charming and hospitable. Highly recommend.
My favorite restaurant in the world now out of all of our extensive travels, and the best restaurant I’ve come across in Croatia by far. Excellent steaks, variety of grilled meats and all over wood fire right in front of you. Simply incredible ❤️🇭🇷😎
