Visit the Old Town of Drežnik, a magnificent defensive fortress from the 12th century that protected this part of Europe from the Turkish empire for 400 years. Enjoy a panoramic view of the Korana River and the surrounding area. See the ruins of the Željava Airport, which was built in the 1950s and 1960s and was then the largest underground military base in Europe. Learn about the underground 'KLEK' complex, which was lined with semicircular concrete shields to cushion the impact of incoming munitions.
