Discover the rich heritage of Donja and Gornja Stubica on a guided cycling tour. Visit the center of Donja Stubica, pass a 19th-century water mill, and see the Golubovec castle. Stop at a restaurant in a traditional house for a meal of local organic food. Meet your guide and get fitted for a bike and helmet. Learn about the safety rules during the ride and the content of the program. Set off on a ride to the center of Donja Stubica, passing a water mill from the 19th century. Visit the Golubovec castle, a replica of a traditional house from the 19th century on the medieval estate of Matija Gupca, the leader of the Peasants' Revolt in the 16th century. See a 450-year-old linden tree, a monument to Rudolf Perešin, a pilot and hero of the Homeland War, and a large monument to the Peasants' Revolt. Cycle through nearby villages, which are full of beautiful scenes of rural idyll, untouched nature, and traditional architecture. Stop at a restaurant in a traditional house for a meal of local organic food. Return to the place of departure, stopping at all the places along the way to learn about the history, culture, nature, and way of life of the hospitable inhabitants of Stubica. The programme requires appropriate footwear – sports shoes. It is light in condition and technically undemanding, lasts up to 4 hours. The distance is 34 km (32 km of asphalt and 2 km of gravel) with a total ascent of 310 m.
