Description

This guided tour is a must-do in Cres! The tour starts with a walk through century-old olive groves nearby Cres. During the walk, your guide will tell you about the traditional way how olives are harvested, types of olives growing on the island and their properties. After the walk through the olive groves, unncover the story behind olive oil production in Cres at the local olive oil mill. Your guide will explain the process how to get olive oil from olives, how they are stored and give you all the relevant details. In the mill we will also taste the olive oil. The tour leads us further into town where you will meet a local olive oil producer in his shop and hear a first hand experience in olive oil productions process. Olive oil tasting as well as aperitiv is also included in the visit. The tour finishes with a visit to another local producer, this time to taste jams and spreads made of fruits we mainly saw during the tour: wild pomegranate, olive and figs. Each guest will receive a jar of olive jam (sweet or salty) and take home a delicious local souvenir!

• •There will be walking over easy terrain around olive groves near the town of Cres (around 45 mins to 1 hr) •In July and August when temperatures go above 30 degrees, it is not recommended to bring children under 12 yrs due to increased temperatures •The tour will be postponed if there is rain
