DescriptionThe capital of Croatia is a charming place by day. But its charms continue throughout the night. In the company of the licenced tour guide explore the illuminated streets of Kaptol and Gradec hills and listen to the stories from the past times. The walk starts in front of the early 20th-Century Zagreb Cathedral, the biggest and the most important religious building in the country. Marvel at the intricate, carved details of its neo-Gothic facade, a masterpiece of the German architect, Herman Bolle. The walk continues down to the Tkalciceva Street, which in the evening is always packed with locals and tourists enjoying beer, a little bit of gossiping and a lot of people watching. The tour guide can recommend bars and clubs where you can party until late into the night. Enter the old, medieval Upper Town through the iconic Stone Gate. Soon you will be hearing your footsteps on the cobblestones and watching the shadows play thanks to the light of the antique gas lanterns. They were introduced back in 1863 when the city had 364 of them. Today, 214 gas lanterns are still in use. Then, admire St. Mark's Square and St. Mark's Church's beautifully decorated ceramic rooftop, as well as the illuminated facades of the Croatian Parliament and the House of the Croatian Government. Finally, stop in front of the medieval Lotrscak Tower, once part of the city's medieval fortifications and enjoy the night skyline of Zagreb's Downtown.
