The most extraordinary hotel in the middle of nowhere. This place is incredible: beautiful grounds, rooms, the best spa I've seen this side of Burgenstock - but in a town that is 20 mins away from Osijek. Nothing to say but this is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in and I am blown away. Mostly though - check out the spa and the adjacent restaurant, the Black Pig.
Overall a great time: What stood out positively: - The booking process via email was convenient and handled professionally from the start. - Check-in was efficient, and the complimentary tea was a lovely touch, both in presentation and taste. - The hotel has a clean, polished look throughout, with a strong overall feeling of quality. - The spa's relax area is excellent, with fruit, nuts, and tea available. Fresh towels were never an issue, and lockers come with an electric bracelet at no extra cost. - The rooms are spacious, and information about the hotel's offerings is clearly presented for guests. - The anti-mosquito device in the room was a very nice touch. - The balcony is genuinely pleasant to spend time on. - Outstanding breakfast - fresh juices, make your own cold press, fine cold cuts, croissants... A few areas where I believe there is room for improvement: - Some guests leave towels on spa beds for extended periods without using them, which becomes a problem given the limited number of beds by the pool and outdoor Jacuzzi. A simple time-limit policy or staff check-ins might help. - A minor point: parking should be reserved in advance for guests, which was filled with guests for a special events. The staff were very accommodating about this, so it was easily manageable, but it's worth noting for guests planning ahead. - A more significant concern (-1 star off the review): food availability felt limited. The restaurant next door, while excellent, closes at 6pm on Sundays, leaving only sandwiches as an option. We ordered two and were told they would take 10 minutes. After waiting, only one arrived, as there was no bread left for the second. We were not notified of this until after the wait, and then had to wait an additional 10 minutes. For a venue's signature item on a limited menu, I'd expect either better stock management or immediate communication when something runs out. Note: apart for the mentioned resturant, there is nothing else around the hotel.
Perfect for restful weekend in silence. Great breakfas and nearby restaurant for dinner. Offering could be better in spa but value for many its 5 stars wellness
The hotel hardware (rooms, design, spa) is world-class, 10/10. However, the software (staff training and management) failed miserably. As a hotel guest, I was denied entry to the on-site restaurant 'Crna Svinja' with my certified medical alert service dog. Staff cited 'house rules' which is a direct violation of Croatian Law (NN 39/19, Article 8) and EU regulations. Because of this illegal discrimination, I was forced to separate from my medical assistance dog to eat, putting my health at risk (diabetes monitoring). A premium hotel cannot call itself 'luxury' if it doesn't understand basic disability rights. Great rooms, terrible experience due to lack of staff education.
The hotel tells a story of lifelong gratitude for everythibg the land it was built on provides us with. It is superbly designed and situated just outside of Osijek with surrounded with only other pieces of the same puzzle being built by the same owner (event company, restaurant, food production, hospital). PLUS: this is overall a well-designed, thoughtfully imagined hotel with many things to try, remember and come back for. Rooms are spacey, modern, airy. Views from all windows are of calm, expansive Slavonian fields. Spa area is top notch and well recommended, especially hot outdoor jacuzzi while it was snowing around us at -2C. Breakfast is smallish, but offers many quality choices. At evenings, the hotel bar is a nice place for a cocktail or three, featuring wonderful floor-to-ceiling glass windows with views of Slavonian countryside. A dinner at “Crna svinja” next door is a must, as the two places tell the same story together. Overall, this is an excellent option for a quick getaway from the city, work and speedy everyday life. MINUS: not much, but… the nice cleaning ladies are LOUD. At seemingly all tines of the day, they have rooms to clean and they do it while constantly answering their wildly ringing phones and yelling to one another so they can chat wjile being a few rooms apart with open doors. This seems like a really small thing and it is, but boy they really killed any mood I had today (happened around 11AM and 4PM, same day).
