People here are very polite and welcoming. Portions are generous. The clear soup comes with home made pasta typical for our region and we really liked it. BUT sitting next to the kitchen, we saw a small bird sitting on the edge of the bowl and plucking out of the pasta bowl in the kitchen, leaving happily with few strings of pasta in it's beak. We took veal and vegetables, they said we would get grilled vegetables but they were soggy and specially zucchinis looked cooked (I took a picture, so you can decide if it pleases your taste). Veal was OK, but some pieces were really too dry to eat and there was not much meat juice to moisten it a bit and make it juicier. Toilettes are clean.
Really good traditional food had me scrapping the plate, really friendly staff who helped me navigate the menu as I cannot speak croatian and made me feel welcome. I really enjoyed my time here is definitely worth the walk up the hill!
This was such a charming place. The welcome was warm, and we sat under a grape arbor with a view over the city. There was no written menu. We had the option of a beef soup for first course, then the waitress listed five options for the main. We ordered one per person but portions were so generous we could easily have had one dish for all three of us. The dishes were served family style and we felt as if we were eating in someone’s home (a really good cook’s home). Everything was delicious, and the staff were very kind. We definitely recommend.
Enjoyed a late lunch at this beautiful restaurant. Very local vibe with a great view of the city. The menu changes often so the waitress reviewed the high points and highlighted the most popular options. We went with the Veal and the Pasticada and really enjoyed both! Surprisingly close to the city center. Highly recommend!
Absolute fantastic hearty home cooked food and service. Not sure how many tourists wander out here, and they already have a steady stream of local clients, but everyone visiting Zagreb should try it. The portions and huge, the house wine is plentiful and good, really can’t fault it!
