The hand-rolled pasta is the reason to come; the shrimp dish especially. Sitting in the garden on a warm evening is one of the nicer things you can do in Zagreb. Great food, no fuss.
This is the perfect fine-dining restaurant in Zagreb. The portions are very generous for the price which is great. All of our dishes were freshly prepared and we enjoyed sitting outside in the quiet courtyard. Our waiter was very attentive too.
I had a great dinner at Gallo Restaurant in Zagreb. The octopus was the highlight perfectly grilled, very tender and soft, and served on a smooth vegetable purée carrot pumpkin and orange, with a well-balanced sauce. Everything worked together beautifully. I paired it with a Plavac Mali red wine. Normally, you might expect a white wine with seafood, but I prefere red match. It had a slightly smoky note that complemented the grilled octopus exceptionally well. The starter was also excellent. lightly baked thin dough with truffle paste, finished with olive oil. Simple, but full of flavor and very elegant. Service was outstanding. Having an experienced, older waiter really adds something special you can feel the professionalism, confidence, and character of the place. Overall, I highly recommend Gallo. One of the best spots in Zagreb for seafood.
Thanks to our server, Tom, and the great team in the kitchen. They made our last evening in Zagreb really special. The food and the service is of absolute high quality. Tom was very corteous and made very good recommandations (e.g. Teranoni). The restaurant itself looks also very nice and the chairs are quite comfortable. I would highly recommand to enjoy a meal at this restaurant.
