A beautiful hidden gem in the heart of the city. Amazing atmosphere in the picturesque yard on a busy Friday night. Sat at a table with two strangers (couple) and had a lovely and liberal chat until midnight!
It’s a small bar with a patio, very and unique. They don’t have food, only drinks (or at least, a Saturday at 2pm).
Very friendly jazz bar , warm and cozy Staff are friendly and attentive Reasonable prices But they don't serve neither food nor snacks
I visited Bacchus with Brano, Rolko, and Ondra for about 2 hours at night before heading to the ice rink at King Tomislav Square. This turned out to be one of our favorite stops during our Zagreb Christmas trip! The vibe here is absolutely fantastic – it's a hidden gem tucked away in a courtyard, and you'd never know it existed unless someone told you about it or you stumbled upon it by chance. The staff were really nice and welcoming, which made a big difference. The drinks were surprisingly good and cheap – much more affordable than most places we visited during Advent. We tried the local drinks, and this is where things got interesting! We ordered some strong local spirit (I honestly forgot the name – maybe travarica or pelinkovac?) and, well, let's just say it wasn't for us. It was VERY strong and had that medicinal herbal taste, kind of like our Alpa back home. But honestly, everything else we tried was great! The regular drinks, beers, and other options were all excellent. What really makes Bacchus special is the atmosphere. The place has this cozy, alternative, local feel – you can tell it's a favorite spot for Zagreb locals, not just tourists. The courtyard is beautiful even in winter, and I can only imagine how amazing it must be in summer when those huge fig trees are in full bloom providing shade. The cellar bar inside has this vintage vibe with old wooden furniture, brick ceiling, and retro decorations that transport you to another era.
