The ćevapi is absolutely delicious, but the service is extremely slow. It’s located right in the city center and is very easy to reach. If you have plenty of time and don’t mind waiting, it’s definitely worth stopping by for a meal.
when served warm the bread is very toasty and the meat, soft, they do make it on the spot so your food does come warm. i got the sis cevapi with a side of butter and cheese cream and ajvar (they are sadly not included and do come with additional costs so a little downside) skip the butter and cheese cream but definitely get two sides of the ajvar, as the bread is rather huge so one was certainly not enough for me. they do have seats and quite a lot of them, its not just a takeout kinda place.
I had the ćevapčići, the biggest portion, and paid €10.50. Absolutely delicious. It came with a huge amount of meat inside a pita style bread. The bread itself was incredibly soft and airy, toasted and grilled perfectly. The meat was also cooked just right, with very balanced seasoning. Since the meat comes stuffed inside the bread, the fat and juices soak into it and give it an amazing flavor without feeling overly heavy. The meat was very juicy too. The onions are just raw onions, simple but good, and honestly I think they would work even better stuffed inside the bread together with the meat. It’s definitely not something I’d eat every day because, at the end of the day, it still has a pretty decent amount of fat. But the experience was 100% worth it. It was my first time trying ćevapi and this restaurant executed it extremely well. The large portion, which is the one I ordered, is HUGE. If I had known beforehand, I probably would’ve ordered the smaller one. I honestly think even the small portion would be enough to satisfy most adults. The large one felt genuinely excessive. The food was ready in around 15 minutes, the atmosphere is nice and reasonably cozy, and the music selection is really good. The restaurant is located on the street behind the main square, just up the stairs from Dolac Market. Definitely recommend the experience. I’d absolutely come back!
Tasty meat. We went for dinner there and ware not disappointed. Good food and good place to sit. We sat outside, and enjoyed the weather. Just a few stairs to climb then make 69 steps on right and you are there.
Got this place from AI! Was the recommended restaurant for cevape. It did not disappoint. I had the mix of cevape and shish cavape with side order of Kajmak. Absolutely delicious. Good value for money and the staff are excellent. Will go back before I leave Zagreb.
