Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the Excelsior Hotel. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and in a wonderful location. The restaurant was one of the highlights of our visit—the food was delicious, and the service was exceptional. Every meal we had was enjoyable, and the staff in the restaurant truly made us feel welcome. There were, however, a few areas that fell short of expectations for a hotel in this price range. Our room was quite small and felt cramped considering the premium rate. Housekeeping also lacked attention to detail. Dirty coffee cups were removed but never replaced, coffee pods and bottled water were not replenished, and even the drinking glasses were not restocked. On one occasion, we even had to request that our room be cleaned. Another issue was the number of mosquitoes around the property, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the outdoor spaces, especially in the evenings. Some additional mosquito control measures would greatly improve the guest experience. Despite these shortcomings, we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, excellent restaurant, and overall ambiance of the hotel. With better housekeeping consistency and more attention to guest room details, this hotel could provide an experience that truly matches its luxury price point.
The Hotel Excelsior exceeded our expectations. The rooms were great, the views incredible, and the service truly heartfelt. They even sent a delicious birthday cake for our daughter’s birthday after we mentioned it to the restaurant manager the night before. The hotel is a very short walk to the old town, they have three restaurants with excellent food and even their own pool deck right on the ocean. If you want a sandy beach there is a public beach right next to the hotel. Truly exceptional. When we have more time we’ll definitely be back to stay longer.
On my list in the top 3 for best hotels I have been to around the world. Staff was so friendly, met us outside to help with our luggage before we even made it through the front door. Rooms were luxurious with stunning water views. Pool and spa area is one of the best I have seen. Definitely recommend staying here!

The location is unbeatable—close enough to easily enjoy the historic city while still feeling like a luxurious retreat. Our room was beautifully appointed, comfortable, and impeccably maintained. Every interaction with the staff was warm, professional, and genuine. The team consistently went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. The spa was outstanding and provided the perfect opportunity to relax and recharge. Every area of the property, from the restaurants to the common spaces, reflected the quality and elegance expected from a world-class hotel. What impressed us most was that everything worked seamlessly. The service, accommodations, amenities, food, and atmosphere all came together to create an extraordinary experience. Quite simply, we did not want to leave. Hotel Excelsior Dubrovnik is one of those rare properties that lives up to its reputation and then exceeds it. We will absolutely return and would recommend it without hesitation to anyone visiting Dubrovnik and looking for a truly exceptional luxury hotel experience.
We absolutely loved this hotel! The concierge was exceptional! They were friendly, responsive and helpful from beginning to end. The restaurants and tours recommended were wonderful. Our room was large and well appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable and everything was immaculate. One other plus was the hotel location just outside the old town so it felt private and quiet compared to other areas. If we were to come back this hotel would be our top choice.
