Food was excellent. Portions were massive! The service could have been better, it did take a while for anyone to come to our table when we first got there. We ordered the fried chicken steak and there was enough for two people. I would go back again!
Me and my boyfriend we went 2 times in this restaurant when we visited Zagreb. Amazing food. We order also the duck and was delicious.
Very hearty and delicious food! We ordered the bean soup, the sauerkraut wrapped minced meat and sautéed veal steak. The steak came with potatoes and the sauerkraut came with mash potatoes as well. The bean soup is filling as well and one bowl can serve a few people!
If you want to experience real Zagreb cuisine at its very best, this place is simply a must. From the moment you walk in, you feel the warmth. The atmosphere is wonderfully authentic, the staff incredibly friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming – the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like a regular guest even on your first visit. The food was outstanding. We started with a beautiful, comforting homemade soup, followed by what might honestly be one of the best “Zagrebački odrezak” in Zagreb! It’s perfectly golden, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, served with classic sides “reštani krumpir” and simple, honest flavors that speak for themselves. Everything tasted fresh, homemade and prepared with care. No unnecessary frills, just excellent traditional cooking done right. Places like this are becoming rare: a true local institution, full of character, warmth and authentic Zagreb specialties. If you are in Zagreb and want to taste the heart of the city on a plate, this is absolutely the place to go. We will definitely be back. ❤️🇭🇷
One of few left public restaurants with local/national/regional cuisine and specialties in Zagreb's strict centre. Modest prices, old school working staff, freshly cooked meals on daily basis....not only proper "Gablec", but peoper lunch or dinner restaurant.
