Very loud upstairs with music and people. Took me a while to adjust to the environment compared to other restaurants we had eaten at on the trip so far. The waiters rush you to order even before saying hello. We spent a lot of money and things slower down a bit after placing our order. Service picked up after that. Food was good but this is a one and done type of place. It’s meant to be more trendy. Next time I would chose something else with view and quiet atmosphere. There were kids, a dog barking , people smoking cigars upstairs in the outdoor dinner area. All in all it was very chaotic environment.
We had an amazing dining experience at Le Specialita Hvar ( ex Passarola)From the delicious starters and perfectly prepared main courses to the exquisite desserts, everything was outstanding. We especially enjoyed the carefully selected recommendations from the exceptionally friendly and charming sommelier, Sabina, who made our evening even more memorable. The restaurant is beautifully designed, with a fantastic atmosphere that combines elegance and comfort. The service was professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Every dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and prepared with great care. A truly wonderful experience from start to finish – highly recommended, and we will definitely be back!
Me and my wife came from Brazil just to have the wine tasting with Sabina in Passarola/Le Specialità restaurant, in Hvar. Sabina is not only a Master of Wine (a very difficult thing to achive!), but a incredible person! This was by far the best wine tasting experience my wife and I have ever had. As wine enthusiasts, we have attended numerous tastings across North America, South America, Europe, and Africa, and this experience truly stood out from all the others. Not only were the wines exceptional, but the tasting was also incredibly educational. We learned a great deal about Croatia’s wine history, local producers, and the country’s unique indigenous grape varieties. The passion, knowledge, and storytelling made every wine even more memorable. If you are interested in Croatian wines and want an authentic, enriching experience, we cannot recommend this tasting highly enough.
★★★★★ We stopped in for oysters and drinks at lunch and enjoyed it so much we came back for dinner the same night. The oysters were fresh, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. What stood out most was the service. Peter remembered us from earlier in the day and made us feel genuinely welcome when we returned. After dinner, when we asked for the bill, he surprised us with a beautiful dessert platter on the house because we’d come back for a second visit. A small gesture, but one that made a great night even better. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Hvar.
I’ve never had “sexy wine” before but Sabina, their Sommelier, introduced us to it and we had 3 glasses EACH! She was very knowledgeable and so great to talk to. Our waiter Peter was also awesome and very kind and attentive. We had such a wonderful experience here and we are definitely coming back. Big highlight of our night! Everything about this place was amazing! If you choose any restaurant to eat in Hvar, choose this one! EDITED to add a second review: I’m back again with another review because, yes, we did go back the next day lol. But this time it was for the wine tasting experience with Sabina! For our last glass, she shared the coolest way to open a wine bottle - upside down and dunked in water! I’ve never seen this before and it was awesome! Sabina is so knowledgeable, caring, and always wants you to have the best time. She’s SUPER!! Thanks for giving us a taste of “sexy wines” 😂 This experience was truly amazing and we really appreciated the care and thoughtfulness that they put into their food and service. This was the cherry on top of a great birthday celebration for my husband. I will forever recommend this restaurant to anyone who comes to Hvar! Passarola will always have a place in my heart ❤️
