We had a lovely lunch at King Richard’s, our waiter was so lovely and funny too. The food was excellent and the location was perfect. Our son commented on how tasty the burger was.
Restaurant was in a beautiful setting under the cathedral. Unfortunately we waited about 20 minutes for our order to be taken - also note that it is ‘restaurant policy’ not to provide tap water (in our 9 days in Dubrovnik, this was the only restaurant that wouldn’t give tap water) and the price of drinks was quite extortionate. My partners tuna was delicious, my seafood pasta was okay (nothing special really). One of the more expensive meals we had in the city
Our experience at this restaurant was so good! The food 10/10, the waiter was helpful and friendly, I feel like this place is really underrated and is far above many places located in the old town. Had the meat platter for one and I can’t remember the name of the second dish, but I dream about having it again! 😁
On our first evening in Dubrovnik we had a wonderful dinner here. On the waiter’s recommendation we let ourselves be surprised, and everything was absolutely delicious. Great food, friendly service, and a very good price-quality ratio. Highly recommended!
2025-October King Richard’s Restaurant sits just off the main road, with a modest indoor space offering four tables and a larger outdoor seating area. We chose to sit inside since the midday breeze made it a bit chilly outside. The interior wasn’t particularly atmospheric — it lacked the charm or authenticity of a traditional European dining experience. Service was prompt. The waiter handed us menus and took our drink order right away. The menu had a decent variety, and we settled on grilled calamari, white rice with butter, white risotto with shrimps, a basket of bread, and one soda. The food was filling, but nothing stood out. The flavors were mild, and while everything was cooked properly, it didn’t leave a lasting impression. Not bad, not great — just okay. The women’s restroom was clean and had two stalls available, which was appreciated. Our total came to €84. Overall, King Richard’s offers a functional dining experience with quick service and acceptable food, though it’s not one we’d rush back to for the ambiance or culinary flair. Bon Appétit 😋
